The activities of the Pre-School are organised to provide constructive play and coaching in order to advance the education of the children in a community environment.
Children learn more skills during their first five years than at any other time in their lives, each child is unique and develops at his or her own rate and we are able to help them in our small group structured activities. We do have a clearly defined Special Educational Needs policy and are able to give support to both the child and the parents in these circumstances.
To meet the need of each child our curriculum aims to support and facilitate the all round development of the individual child. Opportunities are provided to enable each child to develop as required:-
Foundation Stage - The areas for learning are:
Three prime areas
Four specific areas
The activities are constructed to:
Develop mathematical and language skills - Make choices - Express ideas - Discover and explore - Share thoughts - Make decisions - Engage in first hand experience - Reflect on experience and information - Participate as a member of a group.
